About Nino
Nino has been described by some of his social media followers as a “new-age dog trainer”. This sentiment describes Nino’s innovative approach to training that enables the development of dog and handler’s full potential. Nino Drowaert founded STSK9® in 2016, after identifying a need for innovative and progressive changes in working dog training.

As a 20-year veteran of the APD spending 11 years as a K9 handler and, finally, 5 years as Head Trainer and supervisor of the K9 Unit, he achieved a high level of success and holds the highest recorded number of K9 deployments for the department. His skills in coaching handlers and training dogs made him an obvious choice for the position of Nationally Certified Head Trainer for Belgium’s largest police department.

Subsequently, Nino became the first European police instructor in 2016 to travel to the RAAF and teach the implementation of his training system for law enforcement and the military. SASR (Special Air Service Regiment) and Second Commando Regiment also participated.

The development and implementation of Nino's STSK9 Master View now forms the backbone of a broader scientific thinking process. Nino applies this new methodology to coach dog trainers and professionals, making Nino not just a dog training coach but a dog training consultant.

About Kay
Kay Overlund, otherwise known as "MaligatorMom" is the creator and organizer of this event. Kay saw a need for modern community in the world of working dogs and has always had goals for owners to have more online resources available to them. In an age where most of us navigate the world with a supercomputer in our pocket, (our cell phones) she was discouraged at the inability to find reliable information from sources she could trust and much of the working dog community was judgmental and unwelcoming. Everyone on the internet claims to be an expert, but where were the real experts? Fueled by frustration, disappointment, and a passion to introduce new forms of technology to owners seeking quality training content, she set out to create this community event!
Kay has 4 Belgian Malinois, is a mother of 4 children, runs her own business, and manages a large social media presence across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. She is currently writing a book about raising working dog puppies, training to compete in PSA with her dog Storm, and will soon be launching an NFT project with goals of raising money to donate to nonprofit working dog charities in the three sectors of civilian, police, and military. Kay also selects and hand raises Belgian Malinois puppies through the first 16 weeks for private buyers.

About Julie
Julie is a Search and Rescue K9 Handler, who has dedicated nearly the last decade of her life, “So Others May Live.” As a professional volunteer she has had the opportunity to deploy with her K9s nearly 200 times throughout the U.S. and overseas in the search for missing persons, focusing primarily on cold cases and persons believed to be deceased.

She has assisted with the training of many “pet” dogs brought to their agency, helping them become tracking dogs, live find area search and cadaver dogs. She loves watching pets become dogs as their natural instincts are awakened allowing them to track and hunt. Her background as a lawyer helps her prepare team members for the legal aspects of search and rescue that inevitably result from finding the deceased. She believes that the search for the missing goes beyond the K9 and must be used in conjunction with science, technology and training and she especially enjoys working collaboratively with forensic archeologists and anthropologists.

Julie and her K9s have been involved in notable cases such as the search for Don Lewis (Tiger King) and numerous television appearances including Animal Planet and a reenactment of the search for Caylee Anthony on the Oxygen Channel. While not assisting law enforcement she can be found helping archeologist discover ancient burials.
